I lost three and a half pounds last week! WooHoo!! I’m over halfway to my first goal of five pounds before October 10. As much as I hate to admit it, it seems like this stuff could really work as advertised.

The first couple weeks were hard. Both Jack and I felt awful, but now I can tell a big difference in my energy levels, my digestion and in my cravings. In fact, when we first started this I was taking the weekends ‘off’ the diet just so I’d have something to look forward to. So I could tell myself ‘just three more (two more, one more) days and then you can have anything you want.’ I still take Saturdays off, but I’ve added my Sundays into the program. I was just feeling too bloated, sluggish and just plain icky on Mondays after eating junk (and usually a lot of it) all weekend.
Jack and I could probably stick a lot closer to the program. We have our ‘off’ days and our supper menus could be a lot more ‘low-calorie and nutrient-dense.’ But we live in reality and we enjoy our food. We are making a real effort to plan our menus with an eye towards teaching our kids healthy eating habits. We’ve gone nearly totally whole-grain and we’re keeping a lot more fresh fruits and veggies in the house and a lot less cookies and candy.
Could I say ‘a lot’ a few more times? A lot more times?
Okay, that’s my diet update/sales talk for the week. Do y’all have any great wisdom to impart? Or any questions you want to ask? How ‘bout a way-to-go-KC?
