Thomas turned 13 Christmas Day. Other than cinnamon rolls and some gifts we didn’t celebrate much, which is why this past Friday we had a Thrilling Thirteen Photo Scavenger Hunt.
Thomas and seven of his friends left school at noon with a list of clues and instructions to take 13 group photos in locations across our little town. Clues included things like
“to get your photo taken with me you could break a few rules before you leave the campus, but I suggest you just knock on my door”
“ah, the great outdoors! From birthday parties and Easter egg hunts to pick-up basketball games and soccer practice you’ve enjoyed my pastoral presence. This photo has a limitation: in this photo, your feet cannot touch the ground”
and photos included ones like these:
Everybody had a great time and we finished up with a Pinterest recipe, Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake, which has officially become T’s birthday cake of choice.
13; can you believe it? Seems like only yesterday he was an infant live wire, crackling with energy and need.
He’s still a live wire, but now his energy is directed, supplying his many interests and dreams and motivating his growth into becoming a truly good young man. We’re so proud of you Thomas; happy birthday!
